WELCOME TO SUD

My name is Mario, I am originally from Marsala a town in the west side of Sicily (Italy) facing the Mediterranean sea, known for its wine, ancient salt pans and windmills. I grew up surrounded by natural beauty and a rich culinary history shaped by over 2500 years of invasions (Greeks, Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Normans, Spanish). Here life runs at a slow pace and food is a very important part of people's life and is often an excuse to gather friends and family around a table and enjoy quality time together. Freshly produced groceries like meat, fish and vegetables are easily available to buy from local producers, farmers and fishermen while mass produced supermarket food is avoided where possible.

Having lived half of my life abroad I have often missed the authentic flavour of mediterranean food made with fresh ingredients and by the hands of people who have been doing this for generations. While there is plenty of mediterranean food available online and at supermarkets, SUD is the place where you will find the real authentic taste of the south.
